This number, representing the number of earthly desires in Buddhism, is the title of this exhibition.
Applying the 36 elements that mislead humans to the past, present, and future timeframes yields this number, which is set as the number of works.
36 artists will each exhibit 3 works themed on "Past," "Present," and "Future."
Furthermore, all works are small pieces fitting within a 108mm cube. This attempts to appeal to the "culture of shrinking" (miniaturization) that Japanese people love, and to clarify our "basics" from various angles.

Yuko MIZOBUCHI’s OOPARTS reconstructs the exhibition’s theme of “Past, Present, and Future” as a chain of “Major Evolutionary Transitions” in life. Mizobuchi drives a blade into a wood block to expose its layers, attempting to inscribe irreversible structural shifts directly into the material. This act reveals a fundamental “fluctuation” that deviates from linear time, presenting the work as an artifact that transcends existing coordinates.
Supported by the universal dynamics of "Irreversibility, Hierarchical Change, and Material Recording," OOPARTS maintains a robust identity that remains unaltered regardless of shifts in eras or environments.
