《《Journey》》

Ayuko Yoshiyuki, a painter based in Okayama, has built a unique pictorial space freed from the laws of physics by fusing the sensibilities of surrealism and pop culture.
Her work is not a reproduction of the real world, but rather a mirror reflecting the inner world of the artist and the viewer, giving her a unique presence in the contemporary Japanese painting scene.

This exhibition, "Journey," is an attempt to create a window open to the outside world while maintaining the intimate intensity of a psychological reflection.
As Yoshiyuki says, "I cannot be indifferent to the various problems happening in the world," the gaze that was previously directed inward is now being connected to society. This can be called the budding of a kind of "social turn" in her production.

Her expression, which started from the exploration of personal mental landscapes, is gradually expanding into a response to contemporary society where diverse values intersect.
Her body of work is beginning to take on a new role of visualizing the deep layers of a rapidly changing society in a condensed "time-lapse" manner.

How will Yoshiyuki's new journey connect our imagination to the world?
