"What is needed now is not superficial thinking, but sensitivity and imagination that shakes the heart."
Yuko MIZOBUCHI / SHOGEN
This time's theme is "Neo-Primitive"
Literally translated, it means "new primitive."
Although their methods and expressions differ, oil-based marker artist "Yuko MIZOBUCHI" and paint artist "SHOGEN" both aim to stir the viewer's "primitive memories."
The new and confident works created by these two under a common will are all gathered here.
In modern times, even diversity can lead to division and even promote restrictions on people. I feel that this is an era in which we are swayed by too much busy and vast information, become exhausted, and lose our ability to imagine.
In such a modern age, isn't it necessary to feel things by imagining, without being bound by the flow of time?
We want you to awaken the ancient memories that lie at the root of your being by interacting with the works in this exhibition.
The two artists are convinced that this is the original role of art. They will challenge the redefinition of primitive art from a contemporary perspective.
