Takaharu Karasawa continues to depict the growth of monsters (kaiju) inhabiting the fictional forbidden land "Frontier Special Zone No. 9."
Using strong brushwork with pencil, ink, and gesso, he has built a world filled with the pulse of life and tension.
His work is not merely painting but is positioned as a record of exploration into an unknown world.
Through the transformation of the monsters, he evokes the mystery of life and the fundamental power of nature, giving viewers ample room for imagination.
In recent years, his work has evolved from early abstract forms to more concrete figures, while consciously leaving undefined white space, creating compositions that stimulate the viewer's senses.
He will likely continue to create new life forms set in the imaginary world of Frontier Special Zone No. 9, further expanding his worldview.
