
Born in Shizuoka Prefecture. After graduating from high school, she spent time in Akita Prefecture before relocating to Tokyo in 2011.
Drawing on her background in oil painting and ceramics, she now explores the possibilities of mixed-media expression using materials such as leather and rust.

Solo Exhibition "USTURANAIYO," 1F BrainBrunnGALLERY, Tokyo
When exhibiting, I used to arrange my works with a strong awareness of how they would appear in photographs.
Once, I installed tiny pitch-black flowers, the size of a little finger and made of paper clay, so that they seemed to grow out of the venue floor.
A friend noticed the black flowers and tried to take a picture of them with her phone.
"It won't show! Look!"
We laughed together.
This exhibition is something about casting a better light by looking, and finding a better angle by looking...
